For an efficient European policy to support young farmers
In his address to the conference "Sowing the Seeds to harvest in Future : Supporting Young People into Farming", the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dacian Cioloş insisted on the need to strengthen the support measures for young farmers in the Common Agricultural Policy after 2013.
"The policy measures for new entrant young farmers are essential for the future of European agriculture. If agriculture does not provide a clear perspective to young farmers, one might wonder what kind of future European agriculture has", he added.
