In the framework of the European Year 2012 and of the EC’s Innovation Union, the Fondation Médéric Alzheimer and ELISAN (The European local inclusion and social action network) have launched a call for nominations to award original and relevant projects contributing to improve the daily lives of people with dementia and their relatives.

The Fondation Médéric Alzheimer and ELISAN want to encourage with this initiative a person-centred approach to the disease, focused on the single individual rather than caring about the symptoms.

The overall objective of the "Living with and despite Alzheimer’s disease" call is to promote actions seeking to preserve the place of these patients in the cities, their interaction with other generations, their quality of life, and also to improve the support to their families.

In addition, both partners wish to recognize and give value to the role of trained professionals.

The deadline for nomination submissions is 15 June 2012.
