Labour market policy - Expenditure and participants - Data 2016

This publication presents statistics on labour market policy interventions implemented by EU countries and Norway in 2016, together with time-series for key variables covering the period 2004-2016.

Labour market policies are financial and practical policies that can help people in disadvantaged groups in the labour market move from inactivity and unemployment into employment or find better fitting jobs. They are varied and include job searching mechanisms, activation interventions and income supports (unemployment benefits). The publication provides data on expenditure and participants in the different types of labour market policy interventions in EU Member States and Norway. It also presents related indicators used for monitoring the Employment Guidelines which provide common priorities and targets for employment policies.
