Influenza in WHO: WHO has issued an Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Plan in 1999 recommending its use as a guideline for drafting national plans. WHO plays a key role in identifying the seed virus strain suitable for influenza vaccine production.

Eurosurveillance: Eurosurveillance is a project funded by the European Union and is dedicated to the surveillance, prevention and control of infectious and communicable disease. The project produces two bulletins, Eurosurveillance monthly and Eurosurveillance weekly.

European Influenza Surveillance Scheme: The European Influenza Surveillance Scheme (EISS) is a EU funded project which presents virological and clinical data concerning influenza in 22 European countries.
