Chemistry is the answer to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe
Chemistry is at the forefront of modern technologies which shape our lives. Solar panels, wind mills, innovative advanced materials to build electronic equipment or to improve the efficiency and safety of vehicles, new materials from biomass, as well as new products to protect our health, crops and waters would simply not exist without chemistry. To highlight these achievements and to underline the crucial role chemicals play for sustainable growth and quality of life, European Commission Vice-President Antonio Tajani, responsible for industry and entrepreneurship and Giorgio Squinzi, President of the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) opened the exhibition: "Tomorrow Starts with Chemistry", in the Berlaymont building in Brussels. The exhibition provides concrete examples of how chemistry represent the solution to many societal problems.
