EaSI Technical Assistance peer-to-peer online training event with a FinTech platform Debitum Network

The European Union is offering a daylong peer-to-peer training event under the EaSI Technical Assistance programme offered to selected European microfinance institutions, as well as other microcredit providers from Europe interested in visiting Debitum Network, a FinTech platform located in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The tentative timing for this visit is 22 October 2020. However, depending on the health and security measures and mobility restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, the visit may be postponed or conducted as a series of online sessions.

Debitum is a lending ecosystem that connects small businesses, investors and service providers - currently risk assessors. The platform is decentralised, as services are provided by independent and professional third parties. Debitum is also the first FinTech platform that provides unified credit scores, allowing investors to compare various assets based on a probability of default in the next 12 months. The fintech is currently originating loans to businesses in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the Czech Republic.

The goal of the training is to share the knowledge about modern FinTech business solutions. The participants will learn about digital tools for working and communicating with investors and clients, aimed for MFIs considering the implementation of new digital solutions in their operations. The participants will also have the opportunity to learn how Debitum operates, and how it has adapted to the new COVID-19 reality.

The key topics, which will be covered during the training are:

  • Ways of communication with the investors;
  • Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policy;
  • Online KYC/AML – in-house vs outsourced;
  • Lending process and contract, post-lending monitoring;
  • Credit scoring system;
  • Third party scoring by partners in different countries;
  • DD for Loan Originators, including cohort analysis;
  • Examples of Loan Originators.

European microfinance providers who are either selected as EaSI Technical Assistance beneficiaries or are considering to apply for the programme can ask for more information about the event programme and registration by contacting this email.
