New warehouse increases jobs and removes bottlenecks for local production plant in Central Transdanubia

  • 01 February 2016

A new warehouse and assembly plant was built in Koszárhegy, enabling raw materials to be supplied to production plants more quickly. The new warehouse also created a more comfortable work environment for employees.

Construction

To begin construction in Koszárhegy, a three story, 4 452 square-metre warehouse was erected. The first floor was built specifically as an assembly plant, with the aim of supplying raw materials to production plants as quickly as possible. The plant was also built to store raw materials and finished products that are easily accessible to employees. The plant is more complex than previously existing assembly warehouses, and was designed with employees in mind to provide a comfortable atmosphere that encourages more efficient production. Simon István, a private contractor specialising in plastic moulding, owns and operates the site.

Impact

As a result of the project, Simon István’s company has tripled its capacity to store raw materials, semi-finished and finished products. Bottlenecks have essentially been eliminated, resulting in more efficient, larger batch production. Throughout the project, 171 jobs were maintained, and 51 new employees were recruited.

Total Investment and EU Funding

Total investment for the project “Site development by private contractor István Simon in Kőszárhegy” is HUF 542 000 000 (approximately EUR 1 719 349, of which the EU’s European Regional Development Fund is contributing HUF 100 000 000 (approximately EUR 317 214 from the Operational Programme “Central Transdanubia” for the 2007 to 2013 programming period.
