The energy platform collects regions focussing on energy-related topics in their smart specialisation strategy priorities.
Involved regions aim to strengthen core areas of expertise complementary to and in collaboration with other regions in Thematic Smart Specialisation Partnerships (TSSPs).
Within TSSPs regions initiate and explore new energy value chains, develop interregional investment projects, interregional collaboration projects and / or work to align smart specialisation strategies among them.
The purpose is to identify and specify areas within the common thematic priorities such as sustainable buildings, smart grids, and bioenergy to explore co-investment opportunities with high potential business, societal and ecological return at regional and European level, leveraged through combining smart specialisation investments across committed regions, cluster, businesses, and innovation actors as well as civil society.
