Summary of data on the progress made in financing and implementing financial engineering instruments - 2014

This is the fourth successive year that the Commission has produced the summary of data on the progress made in financing and implementing financial engineering instruments (FEIs), reported by the managing authorities.

In view of the increased share of cohesion policy resources delivered through FEIs during the programming period 2007-2013 it became necessary to enhance the transparency of the implementation process and ensure appropriate monitoring by the Member States and by the Commission.

The amounts of the operational programmes committed and paid to FEIs operations continued to increase in 2014 compared to the previous year. Payments from FEIs to final recipients have also increased significantly. Furthermore, the number of reported FEIs has increased slightly in 2014.
