Let us talk about recovery in border regions of Interreg NEXT programmes
- 13 December 2021

AEBR (the Association of European Border Regions) and TESIM (the technical support to the management and implementation of the ENI CBC programmes) are organising an online event about the new generation of external cross-border cooperation programmes - Interreg NEXT - concerning the territories of the Eastern Partnership.
On 15 December, representatives of the European Union institutions, of the Committee of the Regions, and the European Parliament, will discuss online about cooperation with countries of the Eastern Partnership. The focus will be on the European support to the recovery efforts in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After an introduction from the President and the Secretary General of AEBR, the event will be divided in two sessions: the first one, focused on the institutional strategy for the recovery in border regions, will see the participation of speakers from DG REGIO, EEAS, the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions, and the Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions (AER). It will be followed by an operational session, dealing with the current and future challenges encountered by the programmes on the ground. Here the Managing Authorities of five ENI CBC programmes will engage in a dialogue with representatives of DG REGIO and AEBR.
The event will be closed by an intervention on the Interreg Volunteer Youth programme (IVY), an opportunity for Interreg projects and programmes to bring young volunteers on board of their cooperation endeavours.
