Key fact: The EU remains the number one trader worldwide in agri-food products, with EUR 171 billion of imports and EUR 229 billion of exports in 2022. Despite global price increases, volumes of agri-food products traded generally did not drop in 2022 and in some cases even grew. The EU’s broad network of trade agreements contributed to this development.
