The European Commission’s Trade and Economic Security department (DG Trade and Economic Security) is hereby launching a call for expression of interest to invite civil society organisations to become members of the EU Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) for Mercosur.
This week, at the 7th High-Level Economic Dialogue, the EU and Japan came together to discuss and deepen cooperation on trade, industrial policy, and economic security. Discussions focused on WTO reform, resilient supply chains, export controls, and addressing global overcapacity, while advancing collaboration in strategic sectors such as automobiles and batteries. We have imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of adipic acid from China following an investigation into unfair pricing practices. The measures aim to protect the EU chemical industry and safeguard jobs in sectors affected by distorted competition.
Reports and studies
On the 17 of May the Commission published its biennial Report on the Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in third countries. Based on these findings, the Commission will focus its efforts and resources on the specific areas of concern in these countries, with the aim of improving IPR protection and enforcement worldwide.

He argues that outdated frameworks and structural imbalances make reform urgent to preserve a predictable, rules-based global trading system and prevent severe economic consequences.
