Between 13 and 15 September, a delegation headed by Bernard Magenhann, Deputy Director-General at the JRC, participated in a study visit to the Basque Country around the digital transformation of the region’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system.

During the visit, the delegation visited Tknika, the Basque Institute for innovation and applied research in VET where they could learn about different projects they are undertaking to digitally transform their education centres and the Basque industry.

The areas covered in these projects include 3D printing, smart homes, artificial intelligence and virtual worlds, among others. All the projects developed at Tknika have a multidisciplinary approach, involving different disciplines, and several VET institutions.
