Blended Learning Vs Remote Teaching and Learning

Last summer in July 2020 the SELFIE team prepared and released in record time a specific questionnaire for schools forced to teach remotely, mostly through digital medias, our "Remote teaching and learning questionnaire".

date:  22/10/2021

This document was available in the tool for school coordinators to download in their language, and they could copy and paste relevant questions of their choice in the "customise your questionnaire” section of the tool set-up.

Now that most schools in Europe have re-opened their premises, fully remote teaching and learning isn't the rule anymore.

On 5 August 2021, the Commission published a proposal for a Council Recommendation on Blended learning to support high-quality and inclusive primary and secondary education. Blended learning is understood as a hybrid approach that combines learning in school with distance learning, including online learning. The SELFIE team worked to adapt our questions to the new reality the schools were facing and we changed the optional questionnaire title from “Remote teaching and learning” to “Blended learning”, adapting the questions accordingly.

Translating new concepts is always difficult and we would like to thank the national SELFIE coordinators and collaborators who have helped, as well as the SELFIE team members who supported this process.

We rely on our community to check controversial points so please, if you have suggestions to improve our translations, contact us.

You can check on the new version of the Blended learning questionnaires in the tool and in the resources section of our webpage.
