Speech Repository

Another academic year is coming to an end. During this period, the Speech Repository introduced various changes. Besides the revamping and the transition to a new interface which took place in 2022, the platform launched many interesting new technical and content-related features.

Firstly, we would like to thank all speakers, members of partner universities and graders for their hard work and contribution in 2022. Thanks to them, we have been able to meet our targets and upload more than 300 speeches.

In the academic year of 2023/24, we are again aiming to reach this objective. Therefore, more than 200 new speeches have already been uploaded since January (86% pedagogical material, 14% real-life speeches) and many more will follow soon. We added a new language section with Ukrainian speeches in January. The number of available speeches in this section is rapidly increasing thanks to the relentless and essential collaboration of Ukrainian Blue Book trainees and university trainers.

The Speech Repository team has also introduced new technical features, such as a new use filter “Consecutive without notes”. This filter replaces the consecutive level “basic” and allows users to practise and improve their memory skills and stamina. Additionally, the technical information available in the speech preview has been modified to provide further details. Moreover, thanks to the new “Transcript” label, users are now able to immediately see which speeches are provided with a transcript. Besides that, we are happy to announce that more interesting features will be available soon. So, stay tuned!

Lastly, we would like to invite you to share your thoughts and opinions about the platform’s functionalities and possible improvements. For this purpose, we will soon share with you a dedicated survey to allow you to express your feedback about the Speech Repository. As usual, we will do our best to further develop the platform according to your needs!
