Nébih’s school programme: new tools in education for sustainability
Hungary’s National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) launched its school programme four years ago. The latest materials developed are an online video class and a teacher’s booklet with various activities for children, based on the story book that follows the adventures of Matyi, who decides to bake the most beautiful cake in the world for his 10th birthday.
- All materials are available on Nébih’s educational website: nebihoktatas.hu

Wasteless summer holidays
The Lake Balaton Development Council organise conferences about environment protection and sustainability.
In May 2021, Nébih was invited to hold a webinar about food waste prevention and food safety. Presentations provided insights into the international and the Hungarian food waste context. Local entrepreneurs, municipality representatives, teachers, students and other citizens exchanged ideas on a ‘wasteless summer holiday’, since Lake Balaton is a popular tourist destination.
