The Natural History Museum of Vienna (Naturhistorisches Museum Wien - NHM) accomodates the new special exhibition ‘Best Before. When Food Becomes Waste‘, which opened its doors to the public on 7 December 2020. The closing date of the exhibition has been set for 16 May 2021.

The exhibition provides ample information and presents noteworthy facts about the causes of food waste at all levels of the food value chain, from the farm to households. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about food waste and its impact on the environment through taste test workshops, to obtain an overview of the history of agriculture and to receive valuable tips on how to avoid food waste.
