Health Care Without Harm

Virtual conference in November 2020: the fight against food waste in French healthcare

date:  23/10/2020

On Wednesday 4 November 2020 (10:30–16:00 CET), Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) Europe and the Hospital Center of Niort will host a virtual conference, during which the final results of the MECAHF (‘Modèle d’économie circulaire pour les hôpitaux français’) project will be shared. During the event, HCWH’s partners will also present initiatives carried out by them, which can serve as an inspiration to hospitals participating in the conference to help them prevent and reduce food waste within their operations. Reducing food waste not only helps mitigate the negative environmental impact of the healthcare sector, but can also help reduce costs, allowing thus for further investments in healthy, sustainable food aiming to improve both patients’ and employees’ health.

Interested stakeholders are invited to join the event and help accelerate the transition to sustainable food systems in healthcare.
