SPAR International, the world’s largest food retail voluntary group with over 13 000 stores worldwide, most of which in Europe, has entered into two global partnerships with Too Good To Go and Gander to tackle food waste. The parties offer shoppers innovative digital solutions to reduce food waste in participating stores across Europe.

The cooperation with Too Good To Go helps reduce food waste by allowing shoppers to order via an app food packages called ‘Magic Bags’ from SPAR supermarkets in their area. The bags mostly consist of fresh foods that would otherwise be wasted, at a reduced cost.

The cooperation with Gander enables SPAR retailers to display to shoppers, in real-time, all reduced-to-clear food in their local SPAR store.

Both platforms can be combined seamlessly to provide a zero-waste solution for stores.

These strategic partnerships reflect SPAR’s commitment to reducing the impact of food waste on the environment and the execution of the brand’s tiered strategy targeting this issue at all levels.
