The Wasteless programme goes to summer camp

Throughout the academic year, the Wasteless* team paid regular visits to Hungarian primary schools to give workshops on food waste prevention to children and their teachers. Similarly, during the summer break, the Wasteless team received several invitations to visit summer camps. Almost 100 children learned about the importance of preventing food waste in the summer camps organized by the Rex Dog Shelter Foundation and the National Food Chain Safety Office of Hungary (Nebih).

* The Wasteless programme is an initiative of the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nebih) aiming to prevent and reduce food waste in Hungary. The programme received financial support from the European Union’s LIFE programme.

‘Live Wastelessly!’ A new awareness campaign in Hungary to reduce food waste

Every year, the MediaUnion Foundation selects an important social issue, around which it launches a communication campaign in order to draw people's attention to the selected topic. This year, the proposal of the Hungarian Food Bank Association for a food waste prevention campaign was warmly welcomed. The campaign is supported by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture and the National Food Chain Safety Office of Hungary (Nebih).

Please find more information about the campaign on the ‘Live Wastelessly!’ website.
