On 28 January 2021, the Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Julia Klöckner, presented the funding certificates awarded to the dialogue forums for the primary production and the food processing stages.
These projects will be implemented by the German Agricultural Society (DLG) and the Thünen-Institute, Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forestry and Fisheries.
In both dialogue forums, round tables will be held in order to exchange information and experiences, as well as to prepare target agreements. In addition, through the demonstration of relevant examples from farms and companies, measures for the reduction of food waste at the beginning of the food supply chain will be identified, tested and assessed.
With the dialogue forums for the primary production and the food processing sectors, all five dialogue forums for the different sectors of the food supply chain have now been set up, as foreseen under the German National Strategy for Food Waste Reduction.
