Welcome to the 4th edition of the Knowledge Valorisation Newsletter

date:  03/06/2024

Dear Reader,

Autumns tend to be beautiful…. but busy. We plan numerous events where we will discuss topics related to knowledge valorisation that hopefully intrigue you, too.

Today at 2pm you will be able to meet the winning teams competing in the finals of the EU citizens hackathons championship ‘EU Sparks for Climate’.

If you are into social sciences, humanities and arts (SSHA) research and want to know more about how to valorise your results, join our workshop in Brussels on 14 November 2024. But hurry up, if you can – the number of places is limited. To give you a flavour of the workshop, read the interview with Dr Outi Vanharanta from the Finnish Research Impact Foundation and co-author of a study and white paper on industry-academia collaboration in SSHA.

The next EU Knowledge Valorisation Talk on 19 November will be devoted to industry-academia cooperation with a focus on technology and other infrastructures. This is a very important aspect of the European Research Area, so mark your calendars. More information will follow soon.

I am happy to share that our last Talk on measuring and communicating the societal impact of research was quite a hit! We would like to thank everyone who contributed with questions and comments before and after the webinar, which is indispensable for preparing such events. If you’re tired of Netflix one dark autumn evening, rewatch the session here.

Now the call is open for submitting NEW best practices for the next round of EU Knowledge Valorisation Talks in 2025. Join us and share your experience to create more value from excellent European research.

And there is more to discover in this newsletter. Feel free to forward it to anyone who you think might be interested. We are happy to receive suggestions and feedback on the newsletter at any time at RTD-VALORISATION-POLICIES-IPR@ec.europa.eu.
