About the event

Over 15 months the European Green Deal call project “Citizen Voices for the EU Climate Transition” consulted more than 800 citizens and 260 national experts through a series of workshops in each Member State, to develop a EU Roadmap for Climate Transition. The Roadmap identifies concrete actions to be taken at national and EU level to ensure a fair and green transition and to achieve the objectives of the European Green Deal.

To conclude this project, this online event, opened by Vice-President of the European Commission for Interinstitutional Relations Šefčovič and moderated by the Director General of DG RTD Marc Lemaître, will present the EU Roadmap for Climate Transition and will give the opportunity to citizens, experts and European Commission representatives to discuss and react to its findings and what action is being or will be taken.

The three panels will be based on three key topics for the climate transition on which citizens shared their views, ideas and concerns during the consultations:

  • sustainable food systems

  • smart and sustainable mobility

  • energy-efficient buildings

In each panel one citizen that took part in the citizens workshops, the expert involved in the writing of the EU Roadmap and a high-level representative from the European Commission will discuss the conclusions, giving the online participants the possibility to join the discussion.
