Distribution of Tertiary Education Graduates

Data on graduates by field of study was also updated for 2017 by Eurostat. In 2017, STEM graduates accounted for 26% of the total graduates, while social sciences, business and law accounted for 34%. The share of STEM graduates remained unchanged when compared to 2016. The EU countries with the highest share of STEM graduates are Germany (36%), Austria (30%) and Greece (29%). Conversely, the EU countries with the lowest share of STEM graduates are Cyprus (15%), Netherlands (17%) and Belgium (17%).
