New European Bauhaus: applications open for 2024 edition of NEB Prizes

The Commission has opened applications for the 2024 New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes, aiming to award 20 innovative projects and concepts that prioritize sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusiveness. This year, applications are also welcome from Ukraine, in addition to EU Member States and the Western Balkans. Special prizes will recognize projects contributing to Ukraine's recovery. The focus is on projects from regions facing socio-economic challenges in the digital and green transition.

date:  31/10/2023

The 2024 Prizes are divided into four categories, rewarding both existing projects and concepts developed by young talents. Two competition strands are established in each category: one for existing projects and another for young talents. The winners, up to 20 in total, will receive prizes of up to €30,000 and a communications package. The announcement will be made during the New European Bauhaus Festival in April. Applications are open until November 10, 2023.

The New European Bauhaus initiative aims to connect the European Green Deal to living spaces and experiences, encouraging sustainability, beauty, and inclusivity. It was launched in 2020 and invites contributions from people and organizations across Europe.
