Transform-ED - Games and AI in Education

The EC Representation marked Europe Day and the European Year of Skills with a bang by organising the first-ever edition of Transform-Ed. Between May 8 and 10, hundreds of educators, expert trainers, thought leaders and industry representatives from over 50 educational institutions across the EU and USA met in Valletta to discuss and learn about the challenges and opportunities presented by using artificial intelligence and games in education.

date:  08/05/2023

This symposium, part of the European Year of Skills, was specifically designed to act as an upskilling event for educators, who were able to learn not only about various potential uses of games and AI in education but engage directly with practical examples and best practices delivered by a selection of 30 leading figures in the fields of AI, game-based learning and games in education.

Feedback from the participants at the event has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising the EU Commission Representation for organizing an event that tackled such important and relevant topics to educators. “We are thrilled by the reactions and feedback we are getting from event participants and speakers” said Klaus Conrad, who curated the event. “Being able to bring together so many educators and experts from such a geographically and academically diverse spectrum allowed us to bring a new level of discourse to the local discussions on these topics” he continued.
