EU Health and Food Safety Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis was in London on 12 February to visit the European Medicines Agency (EMA). He spoke with Director Guido Rasi about various issues including anti-microbial resistance, paediatric medicine, vaccination, access to medicine, health technology assessment and e-health.
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine wins EU research prize for work on reducing maternal mortality
A team of researchers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine have picked-up €500,000 (£440,000) and third place in the EU's Horizon Birth Day Prize for their study on the use of a blood clot stabilising drug to initially treat severe post-delivery bleeding, the leading cause of maternal mortality in the world.
