Happy Europe Day 2024! Today we celebrate the anniversary of the day, in 1950, when the then French foreign minister, Robert Schuman, presented the 'Schuman Declaration' which proposed the creation of a European Coal and Steel Community leading to what we now know as the European Union. To mark the occasion, a special Europe Day concert will be broadcast on RTÉ Lyric Live this evening with Paul Herriott (see below for details).
