EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is a voluntary environmental management instrument, which enables organizations to assess, manage and continuously improve their environmental performance.

date:  30/09/2022

Earlier this month, on September 8th and 9th, colleagues from the EC Representation, together with those from the EP Liaison Office, participated and successfully completed the EMAS external verification audit, taking the House of Europe in Malta one step closer to becoming a registered EMAS site. EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) is a voluntary environmental management instrument, which enables organizations to assess, manage and continuously improve their environmental performance.

This step towards registration culminates two years’ of commitment to establishing an effective environmental system for the House of Europe in Valletta that will seek continuous improvement for sustainable environmental practices.

The House of Europe will be the second organisation in Malta to be granted this status, which will serve to highlight that such environmental certification can be pursued by organisations large and small, from all backgrounds and contexts.
