Second highest share of young people with third level education in Ireland
Ireland had the 2nd highest share of young adults (25-34 years) who had completed a tertiary education in the EU in 2020 at 58.4% according to new Eurostat figures. The EU average was 41% with Luxembourg having the highest share at 60.6% and Romania at 24.9% having the lowest. The figures also show that show 55% of Irish adults aged 25-54 years had a tertiary education compared to 30% of Irish adults aged 55 to 74 years.
