TEN-T NEWSLETTERS - TENtec mapping Europe's transport infrastructure status

TENtec is the European Commission's information system to coordinate and support the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) policy and to monitor the compliance of the transport infrastructure TEN-T standards. It provides timely information to the public through interactive maps. The systematic and comprehensive overview of the European Commission's work in relation to TEN-T allows to raise awareness of the benefits of TEN-T policy among EU citizens.

TENtec is developed in close cooperation with Member States and key stakeholders and acts as a bridge for transport modelling needs, future policy and budgetary scenarios and the work around military mobility. The newly introduced TENtec API (Application Programming Interface) allows an automated exchange of KPI parameter data with relevant data providers at EU and national level and plays an integral role for the European Transport Corridor studies, providing vital data collection services and compliance maps.

The new version allows the user to combine different layers, for example the compliance status of railway sections with regard to electrification on a given ETC. The data collected in the ETC study on KPI compliance, new projects and CEF funding are visualised by the new TENtec Interactive Map Viewer.

TENtec will be gradually enhanced over time with new functionalities such as extended statistics, and improvements for the alternative fuels, projects/actions and C-ITS layers.
