Welcome to the Mission Ocean and Waters newsletter

To address one of our greatest challenges, we, the European Commission, have launched the Mission “Restore our ocean and waters by 2030”. Mission Ocean and Waters stands at the heart of the European Green Deal and it fully addresses SDG 14 “Life below water”. Our motto is “there is no green without blue”.

Mission Ocean and Waters puts research and innovation, citizen engagement and sustainable blue investments at the service of healthy marine and freshwater ecosystems. We can only achieve our goals through active and impact-oriented cooperation between policymakers, the scientific community, citizens, donors and maritime sectors.

Kestutis Sadauskas – Mission Manager and Deputy Director-General, Directorate-General for Maritime affairs and fisheries.
