LDS: Version v3.0.0 The LDS v3.0.0 release, launched end of January 2026, brings significant improvements across the infrastructure.

European Language Data Space is bringing together experts from the Latvian industry, public administration, and research communities for a country workshop dedicated to the importance of language data in the development of language technologies and AI-based tools in Latvia.

Starting with the current issue of the LDS Newsletter, we are pleased to launch a new recurring format: the Stakeholder Spotlight. In this section, we interview LDS participants and partners to hear directly from them about their work, their motivations for joining the Language Data Space, and their views on the future of Europe’s language data ecosystem. Looking ahead to 2026, the LDS moves from consolidation into wider roll-out: national engagement will continue, infrastructure evolution is imminent, and a major stakeholder moment is planned for the second half of the year.

All these (above-mentioned) achievements build upon the LDS’s three-year accomplishment record: 48 organisations have had their applications granted after vetting (26 from industry, 11 from academia, 4 from public administration and 5 non-profits, alongside research infrastructures such as CLARIN ERIC and ALT-EDIC).
