4 June 2024 - The National Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism in The Netherlands (NCAB), Eddo Verdoner, brought together prosecutors from across Europe at the Ministry of Justice and Security for the first 'European Conference of Public Prosecution Services on Antisemitism'. Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, presented European legal practices and challenges in the fight against antisemitism and informed about progress in the implementation of the EU antisemitism strategy.
Visit of the new National Holocaust Museum in Amsterdam (12/06/2024)
3 June 2024 - During her visit to The Netherlands, Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, visited the newly open National Holocaust Museum. 6 May 2024 - At the Third European Conference on Antisemitism that took place in Vienna, Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, addressed the current challenges that the Jewish community and democracy in Europe are facing since the terrorist attack of Hamas of 7 October 2023. The event was hosted by Austrian Federal Minister for the EU and Constitution Karoline Edtstadler.
European Network on Monitoring Antisemitism launched (14/05/2024)
16 April 2024 - The EU-funded European Network on Monitoring Antisemitism (ENMA) was launched at the Representation of the European Commission in Berlin. The aim is to complement the Vienna process by Member States to develop a common methodology in the EU on recording of antisemitic incidents. To get the full picture it is necessary to record illegal incident as well as “lawful but awful” content that creates a toxic everyday environment for Jews.

The European Commission published a thematic report on 'The legal framework to combat antisemitism in the EU'. The report provides a comparative overview of how legal instruments have been complied with in the 27 EU Member States, and aims to establish how and to what extent the legal framework and its practical application in the different Member States provide protection against antisemitism in three main areas: (i) non-discrimination; (i) hate crimes; and (iii) hate speech.

22 February 2024, Pascale Falek, Policy officer, addressed the closing event of Negotiating Difficult Past project (NeDiPa) focusing on “Difficult heritage” about memory practices at Jewish heritage sites. This EU-funded initiative (500.000 Euro) developed a systematic approach to Jewish heritage in East Central Europe through trainings, commemorations and artistic initiatives, including original initiatives such as green and ephemeral commemorations.

As part of the EU-funded project BRIDGES, run by CEJI - A Jewish contribution to an inclusive Europe, the World Jewish Congress, and What Matters, a questionnaire on combating antisemitism through sport is now available online. The survey is addressed to representatives of Jewish communities and institutions in Europe and aims to gather information about Holocaust remembrance, antisemitism prevention, and the promotion of Jewish life in sports.

10 December 2023 - In view of the rise of antisemitism in Europe, OSCE-ODIHR organised a conference in Rome to respond to antisemitic hate crimes and address the security needs of Jewish communities in Italy. The workshop was organised in partnership with the European Commission and the World Jewish Congress and the Jewish community of Italy, to strengthen the cooperation between law-enforcement and Jewish communities on matters of security.
