This kit is complementary to the (Handi)Cap Emploi practical guide and is composed of :

  • 5 infographics
  • 3 motion graphics
  • 1 notebook
  • 1 USB stick containing all the material.

The information and the awareness raising are a crucial step to inclusion, as it allows to contribute to breaking prejudices and fears relates to the inclusion of disability within the company. The infographics can thus be displayed in the organizations’ hallways and the videos can be broadcasted internally and relayed on social media in order to reduce prejudice related to disability and to better inform the teams and managers.

As part of the (Handi)Cap Emploi project, which has been implemented in partnership with the ADEM, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry for Family and Integration, three “Cafés pour l'Emploi” (job cafés) were organised between March 2016 and March 2017, to promote the integration of people with disabilities into the labour market.

A few figures

  • 6 trainings
  • 3 sessions
  • 19 companies took part (some participated several times)
  • 37 recruiters
  • 75 candidates with disabilities
  • 1 practical guide available in Englsih, French and German

How does the Café pour l'Emploi work?

While employers are trained upstream of the Café to reflect on the place of disabilities within the company's diversity strategy with an expert, candidates work on self-confidence and interview preparation.

The Café pour l’Emploi gives candidates with disabilities an opportunity to meet several employers to exchange during informal interviews. The non-profit organisation Fundamental prepares the candidates physically and psychologically for the interviews during a dedicated workshop, and a relaxation workshop closes the interviews.

The  project has proven to be successful as the hiring rate of candidates, following the Cafés pour l'Emploi, amounted to 30%.

As follow-up of this European Social Fund co-financed project, an inter-company working group will be created in order to leverage the inclusion of people with disabilities by discussing and finding solutions to break the barriers within the companies.
