Launch of the “Atlas of the Human Planet 2020”

The “Atlas of the Human Planet 2020 – Open Geoinformation for Research, Policy and Action” collects contributions from more than 100 users of the Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL) data sets including decision-makers, researchers and practitioners.

The launch event (21 January 2021) featured presentations delivered by the authors of the showcases in the thematic areas of Disaster Risk Management, Urbanisation, Development, Environment and Sustainability. The relevance and the challenges in global open geoinformation on settlements for policy and action was the focus of the panel discussion among European and international policymakers who also reflected on the road ahead.
