The Digital Strategy sets concrete goals and deadlines towards a more service-oriented and innovative Commission, committed to the joint goal of the EU and its Member States to modernise public administrations across Europe. It is a unique opportunity to make further progress on an effective, transparent, secure and efficient Commission at the service of citizens and businesses and the public administrations of the Member States ’’, explains the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel.

The strategy identifies key actions to deliver a digital Commission, to facilitate the provision of borderless digital public services for citizens and businesses and to strengthen cyber security. Thanks to this strategy, the Commission will, among others, be able to fully leverage the potential of data and artificial intelligence for policy making.

“For this digital strategy to be successful, it has to be a collective effort based on co-creation and co-delivery by all Commission services” says Gertrud Ingestad, Director-General of DIGIT.
