Background and aim of this webinar

The primary target audience for this webinar is local P/CVE coordinators. The webinar aims to provide this group with the latest information on how to conduct evaluations in the field of P/CVE at the local level. Other practitioners interested in this topic may also participate (such as staff from NGOs and CSOs, law enforcement, youth and family workers, exit workers and educators).

Evaluation is essential to maintain a critical approach and to identify what works in P/CVE. It is a process that helps in the design of evidence-based strategies and interventions. More and more cities are implementing local strategies, action plans and interventions. In order to measure their impact and progress, there is a strong need for clear evaluation benchmarks.

Speakers

The first speaker, Eric Poinsot, is a local coordinator who will share tips and tricks when evaluating local P/CVE work. Drawing on his experiences, he will expand on why evaluation of P/CVE work is important. He will also discuss the methods applied to evaluate local programmes in Strasbourg and the main challenges encountered.

The second expert will elaborate further on conceptual aspects of evaluation and will illustrate key research insights. This expert will explain why evaluations are important, how to best measure effectiveness of P/CVE policy and interventions at the local level, the peculiarities of evaluation in the P/CVE field and the different methods that can be used during evaluation.
