This European Statistics Awards competition aims to stimulate innovation in web intelligence and encourage the development of methodologies for identifying and extracting valuable data from the web. Through two new challenges, the Data Discovery Challenge and the Data Extraction Challenge, Eurostat will identify the most effective methods for tracing and extracting annual financial data on multinational enterprise (MNE) groups.

·       The Data Discovery Challenge aims to automatically identify online sources of annual financial information related to multinational enterprise groups.

·       The Data Extraction Challenge focuses on developing approaches that can automatically extract important online financial information.

Participants will be competing for Accuracy, Reusability, and Innovativeness awards in both challenges, with a chance to win up to €50 000 if they come first in all categories.
