The Online Job Advertisements (OJA) data for the fourth quarter of 2024 is now available in Eurostat’s DataLab.
Two upcoming events organised by European Centre for Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) in cooperation with Eurostat and hosted by European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), will address the use of online data for skills intelligence and labour market analysis.
A new article on the use of WIH data to enhance statistics on multinational enterprises (MNEs) has been published in the Statistical Journal of the International Organization of Official Statistics (IAOS), titled ‘A Web Intelligence Information System to Support the Production of EuroGroups Register (EGR).’ This research paper by Eurostat explores how the development and application of web intelligence systems support the production of the EGR statistics.

The online job advertisements (OJA) data for the third quarter of 2024 is available in Eurostat’s DataLab! Please note in this context that Eurostat is currently reviewing its data access processes and a new approach has been put in place. Read our article to learn more.
Eurostat has just released new experimental statistics on the Online Job Advertisement Rate (OJAR) based on online job advertisements (OJA) data produced by the WIH. These statistics aim to provide policymakers, social partners, and training institutions with information on labour demand, and could help to identify bottlenecks faced by EU employers to recruit staff.
On 24-25 October 2024, the ADEM (Agence pour le Développement de l'Emploi) agency in Luxembourg held the Open Data Hackathon, bringing together experts from different backgrounds to develop new tools for jobseekers using OJA data.
The Web Intelligence Network (WIN) Conference – From Web to Data will take place on 4-5 February 2025 in Gdańsk, Poland. This event will bring together experts and practitioners to discuss the use of internet data sources in official statistics and showcase innovative developments in the field.
On 16 January 2025, the WIN will host a webinar on enhancing data quality and methodologies for web-scraped statistics. This webinar will explore strategies to improve the quality and reliability of web-scraped data.

The OJA data for the first and second quarters of 2024 is now available in Eurostat’s DataLab! Together with the publication of the new data, we are happy to announce that the DataLab’s transition to a new platform is now complete.
Eurostat has launched the challenge on classification of occupations for WIH online job advertisements data (Web Intelligence Classification Challenge), as part of the European Statistics Awards. The competition aims to support innovation in official statistics by improving the efficiency and accuracy of processing web content for use in European statistics.
On Tuesday 14 May 2024, Eurostat held a webinar to introduce its Top & trending skills tool. In the webinar, Eurostat experts presented the tool, its background and innovative features, as well as upcoming developments. The interactive webinar was streamed on the Eurostat website as well as on the Eurostat Facebook account, and is now available to rewatch anytime.
