New report: Engaging stakeholders and quality assurance are key to delivering on the potential of micro-credentials

recent Peer Learning Activity (PLA) report explores effective strategies for unlocking the potential of micro-credentials, which complement or enhance traditional qualifications, particularly within VET, higher education, and lifelong learning frameworkDespite their growing relevancethe report notes significant variability in the usagedefinition, and recognition of micro-credentials across different countries and sectors. 

The PLA found that micro-credentials are becoming key component of Europe’s dynamic education and training landscape. The report outlines how Member States and employers can advance micro-credential recognitiondrawing on insights from the Netherlands, ItalySlovakiaGreece, and Slovenia, as well Cedefop’s Erasmus+ funded ‘Micro-credentials in Construction: Green Circle’ project.
