Saint-Quentin (France)

Bringing together a variety of architectural styles from Gothic to Art Deco, Saint-Quentin focuses heavily on ensuring their services are accessible for all, especially children. Infants are taught sign language in nurseries and support centres have been created for children with disabilities to be accommodated in their schools.

Additionally, sensory tents are available for persons on the autism spectrum. Saint-Quentin also strives to make their public buildings accessible and to ensure this, they have a team of persons with various disabilities inspect public buildings and recommend ways to further improve each building’s accessibility.

For their commitment to ensuring all of its citizens can fully participate in daily activities, Saint-Quentin won the third prize in the Access City Award 2024.
