A recent apprentice event, organised by the European Apprentices Network (EAN), hosted a candid and necessary debate on the mental health challenges faced by apprentices. The discussion was a poignant reminder that apprenticeships are not merely vocational journeys, but encompass a broader spectrum of personal and social dimensions. The mental wellbeing of apprentices is a vital aspect that has not been extensively explored. To address this, in 2024 EAN will launch a survey to gather insights into the mental health and wellbeing of apprentices, relevant challenges and barriers, as well as good practices and potential solutions. EAfA members will be encouraged to share the survey with their apprentices and apprentice organisations in their networks.
