EAfA holds 2023 High-Level event in Brussels!

date:  07/07/2023

On 26 and 27 June 2023, EAfA held its 2023 High-Level event in Brussels, Belgium. The event marked the Alliance’s 10th anniversary as well as the 5th anniversary of the European Framework for Quality and Effective Apprenticeships (EFQEA).

The event brought together leading experts, policymakers and key stakeholders, as well as over 500 in-person and online participants over two days, to celebrate EAfA’s achievements over the past decade and to discuss the benefits, challenges, and future of apprenticeships in Europe.

The High-Level event included four panels, each focusing on a different aspect of apprenticeships. Topics included the EFQEA, securing skilled employees, adult apprenticeships, and apprentices as agents for a sustainable future.

The event also included the presentation of EAfA Champions − EAfA Members who will act as advocates of the Alliance. The Champions include Bart Denys from Hotelschool Ter Duinen, Daniela Doelle from SoftwareONE, Sreten Koceski from CDI Macedonia, Aylin Akca Okan from ICTerra, and Jo Cahalin from Education and Training Boards Ireland.

The Get-Together event, held immediately after, allowed members to network, explore further the themes discussed during the High-Level event, present their work on apprenticeships and exchange best practices.

Before the High-Level event, a European Apprentices Network (EAN) meeting on 25−26 June covered topics such as strengthening apprenticeships at the national level, mental health, the role of EU policies in apprenticeship schemes, and what could be improved to support the role of apprentices in the green and digital transitions.
