The European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) Award applications are open until 31 August.

The awards will be presented during European Vocational Skills Week (EVSW) in November 2020 in Berlin. They will recognise the hard work and dedication of micro, small, medium and large enterprises across the EU and celebrate the achievements of both the companies and the apprentices.

In 2019, Samuel Gilmore, an apprentice at the Northern Regional College, won the EAfA Apprentices Award. Irvine Abraham, Enterprise & International Manager, Northern Regional College, said: “When Samuel was shortlisted, it created a buzz around the college. Being announced the overall winner in Helsinki last year has been a real boost to the college, Samuel’s employer and of course Samuel himself.

“Last year we wondered if we were good enough to win, but in truth the only way to find out is to apply, so I would encourage all organisations to review the criteria, select on that basis and make a submission.”

To participate you must be an EAfA member and part of a micro, small, medium or large company. Your application should include an example of the quality work that your company has carried out. If the company submits the application, it must be supported by the apprentice and vice versa.

Voting for the award will begin in September and the shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend the European Vocational Skills Week. Travel and accommodation will be included.
