date:  12/12/2023

Tübingen was awarded this for its new central bus station that combines multimodal mobility and urban design. Since the early planning stages in 2017, accessibility, a beautiful design, and sustainability were pillars in its development. The Tübingen central bus station has many green spots, accessible infrastructure, seating options of different heights. As part of this renovation project, the participation of citizens was a priority. Stakeholders, including persons with disabilities and their representative organisations, took part in the project.

For its commitment to the New European Bauhaus principles, Tübingen wins the Special Mention for the New European Bauhaus for the Access City Award 2024.
