date:  26/01/2025

The event, organized by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and BeAble Capital, will bring together more than 130 startups presenting 250 revolutionary prototypes. These innovations span key sectors such as biotechnology, energy, aerospace and agrotech, showing how deep science technologies are shaping the future.

In addition, key figures from the international scene, including investors, scientists and leaders from major corporations such as RepsolPfizerAirbus and Indra, will explore how these technologies can be integrated into their production lines. The forum includes the "Innovation Journey", a guided tour of the most innovative prototypes, designed to inspire and connect attendees with the most disruptive solutions in science applied to industry.

Spain as a technological epicenter

Spain, recognized as a world power in scientific production, ranks 11th globally in knowledge generation, although it still faces challenges in the transfer of science to the market. In this context, the S4i Forum seeks to enhance this connection and position the country as a leader in technological innovation.

Since 2018, BeAble Capital has founded more than 40 startups in Spain, contributing to a 10% growth in the number of science-based industrial companies. According to Deloitte, these startups already generate 12,200 skilled jobs and a total turnover of €2 billion.

The event will include the participation of key institutions such as CSIC, more than 30 Spanish and European universities, and the European Patent Office, which will present an innovative interactive map to identify disruptive patents in Europe. Supported by the Community of Madrid, ICEX, the European Innovation Council and more than 40 national and international institutions, the forum will be inaugurated by Diana Morant, Minister of Science and Innovation, and will take place at La Nave Innovation Center.

Among the startups attending the event is Umibots. Founded in 2022 in Valencia by Clodoaldo González Hernández, Umibots has developed autonomous robots for street cleaning. They are unique in urban floor cleaning and pioneers and leaders in beach cleaning. The startup has a screening system capable of collecting cigarette butts and plastic waste from the surface of the sand. In March they will be on the beaches of Miami demonstrating it to the Miami authorities.

The startup Airelectric will also be at Science for Industry (S4i) 2025. Founded by engineer and CEO, José Manuel Soler in 2022, Airelectric is transforming aviation with electric motors that reduce emissions and make flight more efficient. It is technological innovation that drives the future of electric aviation. Its motors are versatile and are used for traditional aircraft, flying cabs (called "eVTOLs") and cargo drones capable of carrying more than 500 kg.
