Bulgaria to grant 60 mln euro to back innovative MSMEs (SeeNews | Bulgaria)

Bulgaria will allocate EU-backed funding of 118.5 million levs ($66.1 million/60.6 million euro) to support growth at local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) developing high-risk emerging technologies, products and services, the innovation and growth ministry said.

Eligible Bulgarian companies can receive individual funding of up to 2.5 million levs for project proposals that fall under the EU's seal of excellence quality label, the ministry said in a press release on Friday.

Applications are being accepted until May 12. The financing is channelled under Bulgaria's EU-approved National Recovery and Resilience Plan. This is the fourth programme opened for applications under the plan.

The seal of excellence label is part of the EU's Horizon 2020 research and innovation framework programme, which was launched in 2014. The seal is awarded to companies which were unable to secure funding from the European Innovation Council under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe programmes.
