Brussels, 08/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Innovation Council (EIC) announced on Wednesday 8 February that it had selected 34 projects from the September 2022 EIC Transition call, one of the instruments of the EIC’s 2023 work programme. This programme supports individual entities and small consortia to develop and validate their innovative technology projects and enable them to build a business case and a model for future marketing of their innovation.

The 34 projects will share a total of €79.3 million in funding from the Horizon Europe research framework programme. Each project will be eligible for funding of up to €2.5 million.

Of the 34 projects selected out of 181 eligible, 27 are under open funding, 4 under the category ‘Green digital devices for the future challenge’, 2 under the category ‘RNA-based therapies and diagnostics for complex or rare genetic diseases’ and one under the category ‘Process and system integration of clean energy technologies’.

Proposals had to build on the results of the EIC Pathfinder, FET Flagship or ERC Proof of Concept projects by including participants in these projects or by demonstrating that the project leaders have access to the intellectual property or rights to further develop the technology.
