EU should spend more on Horizon Europe, Macron says

He praised the work of the European Innovation Council (EIC) so far; but with a budget of only €10 billion euros for seven years, its impact is limited, and the EU could go even further in supporting breakthrough innovations.

Bulgarian commissioner: To adequately finance R&D, the EU needs private capital

EU – Turkey cooperation on green and digital transition

ModernDiplomacy.eu | 25/04/2024 | Iliana Ivanova, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, have announced that three innovation programmes from Türkiye are now certified to take part in the European Innovation Council (EIC) Plug-in scheme, which will enable them to submit projects from their portfolio directly to the full application stage of the EIC Accelerator.

Commission allocates additional €10 million to support researchers from Ukraine under Horizon Europe

Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine | 19/04/2024 | The Commission has topped up the budget of the MSCA4Ukraine initiative, set up to support researchers forced to flee Ukraine, with an additional €10 million. The scheme, set up under Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) has supported displaced researchers since the start of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. [...] The EU has recently opened a Horizon Europe Office in Kyiv and set up a scheme to help Ukrainian deep-tech companies under the European Innovation Council (EIC).

[...] Two years ago, regional development fund BOM and VDL Group poured €2M into the Eindhoven agtech company.
